What we collect

This is a publishing site. There is no account to create, no login, and no newsletter sign-up, so the data we handle is limited:

  • Server log data. Like almost every website, our host records the IP address, browser user agent, requested page, referring page and timestamp for each request. This is generated automatically and is used for security and to keep the site running.
  • Analytics data. Aggregated, largely anonymised information about which pages are read, from which country, on which type of device, and for how long. We use this to understand which guides are useful.
  • Advertising and affiliate click data. When you click an outbound offer link, a click identifier is generated and passed to the advertiser so that a referral can be attributed to this site. This identifier is not linked to your name.
  • Correspondence. If you email or telephone us, we hold what you send us for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

We do not knowingly collect special-category data, we do not ask you for health information, and we do not collect payment details — any purchase you make happens on the vendor's own site under their privacy policy, not ours.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies and comparable identifiers may be set by this site and by the third parties named below, for these purposes:

  • Strictly necessary — keeping the site secure and serving pages correctly. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics — measuring which pages are read and how the site performs.
  • Advertising and attribution — recording that a visit or a click came from this site so the advertiser can attribute a referral, and measuring how advertising performs.

Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, we ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then behave differently.

Legal bases for processing

  • Legitimate interests — keeping the site secure and available, preventing abuse, understanding aggregate readership, and attributing referrals so we can be paid for advertising that funds the site.
  • Consent — for non-essential cookies and comparable advertising or analytics identifiers, where consent is required.
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain records to comply with Latvian or EU law.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share limited data with service providers acting on our behalf or as independent controllers in their own right:

  • Our hosting provider, which processes server logs in order to deliver the site.
  • Analytics providers, which process usage data on our behalf.
  • Advertisers and affiliate networks, which receive click and attribution data when you follow an outbound offer link.
  • Professional advisers or authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are made under an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Server logs are retained for a short operational period, typically no longer than twelve months. Aggregated analytics may be retained for longer because it no longer identifies an individual. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and to keep a record of it, and is then deleted.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these, email info@quivexa.com. We will respond within one month; if a request is complex we may extend that and will tell you if so. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Latvia this is the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija).

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to third-party websites, including advertisers. Once you follow such a link you are on their site, subject to their privacy policy and cookie practices, which we do not control. We encourage you to read them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
